Default Is this right?

Have a look at this, just replaced my top bearings and upper spring seats, and there’s this gap, and I can’t remember if it was like this before, so is this normal or have I done something wrong? I’ve got the special tools and I used them on the cross shaped nut, and tightened it to the very bottom.

Yeah.. I'm pretty sure that's fine. If I remember correctly I thought exactly the same as you when I changed mine a couple of years back..

Like you, that doesn't look right to me, although it could well be. I can photograph my C70 mount - which is still original and post up tomorrow evening - if that helps.

Aye, do that, let’s see it, mind the car has to be on the ground.

Hi

That gap between the upper rubberised large washer and the support plate (with the bearing) is normal.

Here you go, original as it left the factory and a gap of around 4-5mm

That’s conclusive then, many thanks for putting my mind at rest! It’s normal!
