Default A warning

A warning to those of you who plan replacing the timing belt, water pump etc.
One of the steps before replacing anything is removing the front engine mount.
I did, and after the timing belt job was done I discovered to my horror that the engine mount bolts only went in a few millimeters before getting stuck.
What to do now,-I was 600 kilometres away from home and needed to get to work the next day. Luckily I had a 12/1.25 thread tap and die at hand so I could make new threads in both the holes and the bolts.
So, beware . . . do not loosen those bolts without being able to re-thread. After many years those steel bolts may rip the threads off in these aluminium blocks.
