Default 2006MY XC90 Air Quality Sensor

Just thought I'd help out anyone with a XC90 2006MY and an AQS fault. Rather than spend £100s on a Volvo part I spent £19.99 on eBay for a brand new identical VW part. Fits perfect, code cleared, I have heat now.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2621485943...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT. This seller is nothing to do with me.

Hope that helps someone.

Ouch that hurts, spent £185 at volvo to get one of them for my 07 S60. It cured the fault but the price was hard to swollow.

The sensors seem to work ok for a short time, but will soon take down other systems, have a guess how I know this!!!

Update - I don't think this sensor is working properly. Cold air only for the passenger and no seat heating for the passenger - cold wife is grumpy wife.

Any chance you could post up some close up pictures of the markings on the original Volvo sensor you removed or write up the details on here?

With so many parts, you can buy the exact same part made by the same manufacturer but without the car manufacturer's name on it...... for a lot less money.

I've been trying to find an OE equivalent. Local Volvo dealer wants £249+VAT

I think I need Volvo part 31250683 which covers my 2006MY.

I took a pic of the original and the wrong VW part I fitted.

The AQS has nothing to do with your cabin temperature nor does it control your heated seats.

Agreed that the AQS system has nothing to do with the cabin temp' and seats, but...... if you fit a non genuine sensor, it will, and does take out other functions.
Not sure how or why, perhaps rogue signals?????
