Default Adding the grey caravan socket.

Hi all, I have an 04 S60 and tow a caravan. When I bought the car it came with a towbar and single socket already fitted. Can the additional grey socket, for charging the caravan battery and running the fridge, be easily fitted by a novice or should i leave it in to the likes of Indespension to do?

Many thanks
Paul

I fitted one two my S60 but used the Volvo wiring kit and fitted a 13 pin socket which was straight forward and just followed the instructions supplied.

Hi Paul(Sparman) fitting the extra socket is fairly straight forward so long as you a competant DIYer you will need a split charger of some kind to run the fridge & charge the caravan battery or you could make your own up using 2 relays if you are so inclined & a tight ar*e like myself you should be able to get a ready made split charger unit from here

or this type depending on your caravan spec

They do a couple of others as well but if you phone them & ask for thier tech department & tell them what car it is for they are normally very helpfull. Hope this is of some help to you.
