Apple ios 4.3 update for USB connection - Page 2

We have just updated our iTunes on the PC to the latest version and I was hoping that the 3G iPhone would take the new update to version 4.3. However I cannot get it to update on the iPhone. Can anyone shed some light on this.

Is the phone too old to take the updates and if so, can I downgrade the phone to a previous version of the software so that I can play music in the car.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi the software update is for iphone 3GS and iphone 4 only which one do you have ?
