Mine looked great, but needed a *lot* of work. Or maybe I'm just too anal about my cars, probably a bit of both!

My current car needs a *lot* of work too..... Which is why I want to change it really, might as well buy the T5 I really want and then do a few fixes than spend hundreds tidying mine up only to still be disapointed when I squeeze the gas pedal, see the 18mpg on the trip computer but see the speedo still reading legal numbers after a miserable 9.7 seconds!!

PS: Can anyone tell me if the estate handles differently from the saloon?

My saloon really handles well I think, I much prefer it to my previous 1998 escort and 1994 Cavalier.... Although it isn't a patch on the Citroen ZX volcane I had.. (basically a go cart..)

Fair enough, I certainly wouldn't try and put you off getting a T5, I am completely in love with mine!

AFAIK generally the saloon versions tend to handle a bit better than the estate versions on any car, due to having less weight and a lower centre of gravity. Whether you would ever notice that difference anywhere other than a circuit is debatable, especially on an older car.

I personally think the Estate looks much nicer than the saloon, but the saloon is a lot cheaper to buy. You pays your money you takes your chances

Cheers,
John

I would be very reluctant to buy a car with no service history, especially when high miles are involved.
I'm not a fan of estates myself if thats what you fancy, go for it.

Try this...
