Default 2nd Row Seat Belts

I am a bit OCD on rattles, so my wife says, but I say I have paid £55k for this car, there should be none.
I was hearing a rattle in what I thought was the 2nd row and decided to click in all the three seat belts in without passengers. Have now been out in it a few times and now there are no rattles.
Any suggestions as I would prefer not to have to have the rear seat belts permanently connected without passengers.

I have seen plastic seat belt buckles on Ebay designed to fool the car's systems into believing the seat belt has been fastened.

Sorry, I may have not been clear. The noise seems to be coming from when the seat belts are not fastened, so they must be rattling against something, this is the only thing I can think of.

They rattle against the hard plastic seat backs if not positioned carefully to prevent this, its another Volvo fail, this car was not tested long enough to iron out the un-acceptable faults.

My rear seat belt buckles have a double loop of fabric behind them to stop them rattling ... has yours got that?

Yes, so I thought originally that it could not be loose seat belts. I will try undoing one at a time to see if I can narrow it down. Surely I am not going to have to check what position the seat belt is in every time, I hope.

Sorry, its the front passenger seat belt that rattles against the hard seat back in my car. This was not an issue on the old XC90 as the seat backs were leather, I have a child seat fitted in the near side back seat and the seat belt rattles against that unless it is left looped around the child seat arm rest when seat not in use.

I have a similar problem with my 2019 XC90 with 3 rows. The seat belt receivers in the second row between the middle and right hand seat are side by side and they bang against each other when not in use. Pretty annoying considering the cost of this vehicle.

I tried putting stick on rubber bumpers between them and it got worse. Right now I am living with the rattle but would be interested in hearing if anyone has an elegant solution. I tried putting a rubber band to hold them together but that makes it difficult for my grandchildren to buckle up.

Since my previous post I have found that the mid row seat belts do not retract as they should and the buckle is usually facing the wrong way and rattles against the hard plastic C posts, I have had to stop several times after I have dropped people off to sort out the belts to stop the rattles. I never noticed this when I posted my first posts on this as I had a baby seat in one side and the other side was never used then.

I think I have located another source of a rattle, the bar under the second row seats that allows a slight recline is very loose and I suspect that's what I am hearing on rough roads. Has anyone experienced anything similar and have a good solution, I have a little towel folded up to dampen the movement and am testing now.
