I too have found that only very small additional discounts are available on Selekt cars that have been advertised. Mats, fuel and a service plan discount are good things to try for.
But what about a pre-reg car? As I reported a few months ago I got 36% off list price for my S90 with 10 miles on the clock (and no, I haven't missed a "k" out), a full three years' warranty and a full tank. The trade-in valuation was fine too. Total cost to change? Just £12k for a brand new £45k car. I originally went to the dealers looking for a used V60 but found them very low, relatively ordinary inside and rather expensive. I fully appreciate that V60s are more popular than the 90 range and that this is reflected in prices. The only problem with pre-reg is that supply is patchy and you may not be able to get the spec you want but then that can easily happen with used cars too. In my case they were nearly all R Design trim with huge wheels; just not my taste. Hope this helps.

My local dealership, great service over the years. Credit where it's due.

+1 for Riverside. I avoid all other more local dealers and make a beeline for Riverside Doncaster.

When I bought my XC90 I used a cheaper similar car sold at another Volvo dealership to get them to give me a better deal. Although the other car wasn't right colour I wanted and was a bit older and had higher mileage I still made out I was going to buy that one. In the end I didn't get any money off but got them to install android auto for free and install the rear camera for half price. I also pushed them to give me free 2 yr warranty rather than just 1 year (it was 3yrs old)

You are more likely to get dealer options. I managed £250 off and a spare wheel kit and a full tank of fuel . The internet has driven down prices so there is little margin to be given away. Btw, I’ve been buying “premium” nearly new cars for the last 15 years ( E class, Jag XF , S90 and V90 and the price paid seem to be coming down.

Buying Select used
Afraid my first foray into buying a Volvo select used not a happy experience, and yes from Riverside , Doncaster , praised by a few on here ! Bought a Volvo V90 CC with 22800 miles on the clock with 12 months select warranty and mot insurance . Well 3000 miles and 9 months after purchase the mot was due and failed on dangerous faults ie brake pads, tyres etc with costs of £1150 just to get it through mot ! Told that nothing is covered by warranty nor mot insurance . Have suspicions that vehicle was not prepared properly for sale. Lessons are some of these warranties and insurances are not worth the paper they are written on! Will be bye bye from me to Volvo in the near future!

From personal experience, you may get a discount of £500 give or take if you're lucky.
Volvo Selekt do not move much at all. But if you don't ask, you don't get. |

I had a very good experience at Riverside Doncaster. Got a fair price for my PX, and got the V90CC I was buying down to my budget.
The deal was agreed very close to the end of the month. Apparently sales targets had not been met and it was the best they could do. Whether this was just flannel to give the impression no more flex was there I dont know. What I do know is I managed 1.5k off a 25k Selekt car. Might be worth timing your purchase to give you additional levers. I was very happy with the car and price and also hope the dealership made money - all happy |
