Default Charging the xc90

Hi folks!!

I’ve got myself an xc90... very chuffed with it.... I’ll start a members ride thread... do people do that on here?

Anyway... plenty to get to grips with..

Three questions to start with...
1. How do i zero the trip computer in the car? there’s TM and TA. What do they stand for..
2. I’ve attached a pic of the charger... what level of charge do i set it at?
3. Does the car automatically have the boot opening with you foot function? I can’t see anything underneath...

Thanks!

1) The button at the end of the left hand control stalk behind the steering wheel will reset the trip computer. TM is your manual trip reading, TA is the automatic one. TM must be reset manually. The TA reading is reset if your car hasn't been used for four hours (think of it as an automatic trip meter per journey).

2) For the charger, set to the highest (10A). Should charge fully in about three hours.

3) I don't think the gesture boot opening is standard, you'll need to see if that's part of the build specification.

You might be glad that you don't have the gesture boot opening function. Pain in the head for me! The tailgate keeps lowering when I'm putting stuff in or getting it out.

Thanks for the replies folks!

Yeh, there was no mention in the car’s spec,so I’m guessing it doesn’t have it.

I’m sure there will be loads more questions... haha

T8s were all very well specced as standard, I would expect you do have it.

Stand facing the tailgate. Approx in line with the first "o" of "volvo" kick sharply in and out under the bumper. Do not wave your foot side to side. The boot should open.

If you find it a pain opening unintentionally you can easily do a small mod and install a disable switch in the luggage area.

Also make sure you stand back after the kick. If you are stood too near to the boot it will not open.

From the XC60 manual, you get the gesture opening it you have keyless entry.

If you're poor, like me, you'll need to use a long-press of the boot button on your remote key to open the boot.

I wouldn't worry too much about looking for the sensor it is reasonably well shielded. Just try to see if it works. You have keyless right?

Keyless? Not sure.....i physically have two key fobs...both of which can lock and unlock the car....is keyless one of those things where you just have to have them on you and walk up to the car and it unlocks?

Honestly, this is the first ‘new’ car I’ve ever had... my newest car is a 07 plate mk5 golf! So the technology terms are new to me.
