It should not be that loud , just a little rattle when idling if anything ... fiestas used to do that when new !

It's quite noticable - but that may just be me having very little tolerance for noise. (I do have very sensitive hearing ...which is bloody annoying!)

Going to try playing with oils to see if it quitens it down - will report back.

Did anyone ever find out if the M56LK could donate the 5th gear to an M90?

Interested in changing my rear diff ratio from 3.54 to a 3.73 or 3.9(?) for a little more acceleration in gears 1-4 but changing the M90 5th gear set to maintain a decent cruising RPM @70MPH.

If its technically possible, I'll spend more time looking at cost v benefit etc... play around with gear/RPM/Speed calculations.
