General: XC90 Heater Matrix

Hi All,

Has anyone had experience in removing / replacing the heater matrix on an XC90, (I have a 57 plate). Bit worried about biting off my than i can chew. Pic would be brill.

not done it as put off myself.
its behind the dash therefore all that has to come out and by all accounts its a lengthy job.
I had a leaky matrix which caused a fishy smell and damp drivers carpet.
mine was solved by k-seal - sort of up market radweld - straight into the cooler tank.

Thanks for that, I have tried Radweld and Holts Sealit both similar, but its not having it. Think its got to come out, I've read it could be the O-Seals, If i could just get a step by step "How To" I would brave it, everything I find on the web don't seem to be for the XC90.

Can anyone confirm in the matrix core will slide out into the passenger foot well once the pipes and 2 screws are off.

hi i looked at one the other day and i cant see why not it should slip out afeter pipes removed

No it wont, Just done mine, you have to cut the front off the pollen filter housing, then it come out just fine, not my idea I read it on a post on this forum, but it saved the day, just cut it off with a Stanley Knife and glue it back on after, removing the glove box is a good idea too :-)
