Most odd, mine did it OTA on Friday without problem during a 60 mile round trip journey.

After trying OTA updates, of individual areas, I’ve decided that it’s quicker to download all 40 odd Gb of maps onto a USB and update that way.

Updated the whole of Europe on a five mile round trip to McDonalds this morning.

Just to confirm: do the map updates also update the speed camera database?

Maybe stupid question but...
These OTA updates are done via the VOC sim card installed in the car? Meaning you don't pay for data. Or is it through your connected phone?
Can the car connect to the WiFi in the garage at home and get updates there?

Map update data doesn't come via the VoC SIM card. It's either via your tethered phone or a (secondary) data SIM card you provide yourself. (You cannot physically access the in-built SIM). You could connect the car to your home wifi but note that it can take hours to download the maps.

Personally, I think the easiest way to update the maps is to download them onto a USB stick on your PC and then plug that into the car.

So still the old style 😕
Downloading 10GB or so using my phone would kill my monthly data limit instantly...

If the map update is a large download file, the Sensus download page will say too large for OTA, use usb to download. (it wont download OTA if its a large download)

I have downloaded North West Europe to a usb stick (Version 1240) and it is taking ages to install. Normally, an update takes around 1 hour, but this way past that.
Has anyone managed to update NWE?
Thanks.

tem.

What does your display say?
Do you see the percentage go up or just "loading"?

My update seems to have disabled my navigation, it won't update and have stopped to show the maps and traffic sign information.
