S40 (New) Engine 2.0D : fuel bleed issues

Dear All
I`m hoping you can help. I have been trying to bleed the air out of my 2.0d s40 but i don`t seem to able to succeed. Can I just check that I am doing this right please.
1st: disconnect the fuel supply pipe from the filter to the fuel injection pump.
2) disconnect the fuel supply pipe to the filter and connect the volvo pump to the fuel supply pipe. draw the fuel into a container until constant.
3) reconnect the pump to the filter and draw fuel into the filter. once filter is full reconnect the fuel supply pipe to the filter from the fuel injection pump and pump fuel by hand until strong resistance is felt
4) start car, warm to operating temp
5) shut down engine and remove the pump.

I can get all the air out of it this way. but everytime i shut down the engine, and remove the pump. i seem to get a lot of air back into the system but there are no leaks.

Try putting the pump on the green return line instead this way you will suck all the air from the system and the car will run fine. When I bled my system after filter change I saw a LOT of air going to the pump whan I stated the engine but the car kept on running fine so my guess that some air is ok as long as there also is some diesel too.
