Default A couple of recent glitches XC60 MY18.5

Anyone had any of these issues, which I've had in the last few days ?

Touchscreen blacks out/shuts down whilst driving. Comes back on soon after.

Voice activation does nothing. Every command results in 'What do you want to do ?' , then cancels. Stopped vehicle and shut down system , then was ok after.

Brakes occasionally lock on after stopping for no apparent reason. Will not release until restarting the vehicle. Had this a couple of times now when stopping in fuel stations. Embarassing when cars trying to follow !

Thanks

If it was mine it would be on its way back to the dealer on a transporter.

Perhaps I can help with the brakes. If the car is auto-stopped and you exit the car, on reattaching the seatbelts the brakes will not auto-release when you engage D and try to move off. Certainly not if someone has not yet buckled up. You should be able to manually release the handbrake if you press the pedal and the button together though.

So if I've got things on the passenger seat, that might cause it ? Strange though, I've done 11,000 trouble free miles in it and it's only happened recently.

This usually happens to me when I stop to open a gate then jump in to drive through without putting seatbelt on as I will be stopping once through gate to get out and close it. I either have to buckle up or release the auto hold button to release the brakes.

My month old XC90 is currently in the dealership for these issues. Th3 brakes were very scary, mine happened on a level crossing, auto brakes came on and then the parking break refused to come off. Que screaming wife, angry drivers behind and me having to floor it to drag it off so I could get to a safe spot. All the time with my foot flat to the floor on the accelerator the parking break refused to disengage.

I’ve also had the issue with the screen going blank and then coming back some time later.

Will keep you posted, first day today and they’ve kept it overnight for more work tomorrow....

Just to update people, I got the car back today.

Basically they have updated the car to the latest software which they hope will resolve the majority of the issues I had including the parking brake locking on. There were fault codes and these have been reported to Bolvo.

They also mentioned that a power pulse pipe (???) has split sonthats been replaced. Moments before the brake issue there was a noise like a rapid explosion of air at high pressure. Not sure what a power pulse pipe is.

They did say the black out of the Sensus screen is a known fault and Volvonare working on a fix, but nothing yet.

I’m on my 3rd powerpulse pipe. Last time they changed the compressor and solenoid too.

My dash blacked out the day after I got the car:-

It's slightly concerning that a PowerPulse pipe has split on a new car which must have the revised pipe fitted. (It was a known problem and Volvo replaced earlier pipes whenever a car was in for service.)

PowerPulse is a system which stores compressed air and releases it whenever there's a need for fast acceleration (it helps overcome turbo lag). It operates at speeds below 15 mph iirc and can operate twice in succession before the pressure needs topping up. I don't know how long this takes.

Yeah, they've been saying that for 2+ years.
