At higher speeds I wouldn't be able to hear it over all the interior squeaks and rattles. |

I think the clunk your referring to is simply the brake pads against the disks when slowly moving downhill. Purely friction. I must be lucky as I have no interior rattles.

On my XC60 I can hear it ONLY when going down a ramp in my garage.. is it because I'm going downhill or it's because I have my foot on the brake?.. Anything else (eg. suspension..) would be clunking at all speeds.. In the swedespeed article they mention a TJ - but it's actually just some foam to stop the rattle- and it'll last until the first good wash.. Brake shims are useless as f*ck.. |

My brakes are quiet. No clunks. Only rattles when there are water bottles in the door pockets, which drives me bonkers because I never leave them there, and louder clunks from the middle row seatbelts if they have not been stowed properly with the fabric tab facing the correct way, towards the C pillar plastic cladding.
This last point is worth checking actually in relation to the OP.

Is it just the one clunk? or a clunking? when you re moving?
Does it do it all the time, or just once in the same place or when you drive off etc. |
