Run the engine on just diesel instead of engine oil? You sure it wont ruin the engine??

Can I try this trick on my 16v 940? The tappitts are starting to stick sometimes.

It is perfectly safe if done with the old filter left on and only left on tickover - DO NOT REV - I have done this to clean up many a gunged up engine. Diesel does lubricate as well but obviously as it is so thin would be unsuitable for use other than as a flushing oil. We normally use red (duty free) diesel as its even cheaper.

It would have also been seen ....Hall road area

You lucky b........ Only 40-46p for petrol we're paying that sort of money for lpg with unleaded in the region of 96p and diesel 99p. Our 'red' duty free diesel is locally at 63p a litre (non-bulk).
Looking forward to seeing the pictures.
