Default Emissions error message, then gone ?

Got a 2009 XC60 D5.

Driving home on Saturday after a day out, cruising about 60mph, and I get a very momentary misfire, about 1/4 of sec, and then everything is fine again. I had just filled up the tank from 1/2 full @ a major supermarket service station some 6 miles earlier, a station I don't ever usually go to.

Finished the rest of the 20 mile drive home with no other issues. Next day I get into the car and see the Engine symbol, and the "service required" message. Looking it up in the manual, I see it is related to emissions, so I'm thinking its the DPF and I've gotten dodgy diesel. My mind is thinking, I'm out of warranty, nearest dealer is 60-odd miles away, this is going to cost !

I Drive a short distance and its still there when I next start up again . I drive another 6 miles or so around 60mph, and when I stop and start again, message is gone. its now been away of the next two start-ups, including this morning.

I had this happen one time before on the XC60.

I used to have terrible problems with an S60 diesel, DPF gave me all sorts of headaches, but other than the above two, the XC60 has never gave a DPF issue, and my driving style/journey types havn't changed.

I wonder what my issue was on Saturday ?

Have you checked your oil levels? Sometimes when the oil levels are too high, this warning kicks in. I had this when my oil levels were on the high side, but still hadn't got a warning tellling me that they were high. Just this odd flash of emissions too high warning.

I believe it could be because of some sensor that may be faulty.

Regards
