Jack and Jill
Hi all,
As most will be aware by now I'm on the lookout for a 850 Saloon, to use as my Second Car. I almost bought a 92 850 2.0GLT, when I recieved a message from a VOC member who wants to sell his Ex Plod 854 T5. Well I was worried about Insurance- owning a T5 and an R with only one lot of No-claims is going to be painful I thought. Well, Chris Knott will cover both of em for £800, and thats agreed value on the R as well!!! Anyway, I'm gonna look at this T5 on saturday (31/2 hours on the train), and most likely buy it. So my drive will be graced with a Redr and a White T5, I'm gonna call em Jack and Jill, unless anyone else can think of a better pair of names. How do I tell which ones Male?? Regards Nigel 855R |

RE: Jack and Jill
I thought you'd go for the ex plod one Nigel. That's the only thing that would have prised my car out of my hands - a cheap T5. However, my wife would never agree to a white car. The Volvo bit she can just about handle but a WHITE car is a no no.
If you ever come to sell it let me know. At the risk of sounding sexist I think Jack should be the R. Bright red - a little more masculine than white. It's a stronger car too. Men are generally stronger (physically) than women (I say generally - there are exceptions). Jill should be the white one. White is a little more feminine and it's a bit more of a sensible car too. If you change your mind on the T5 and fancy a swap for a 96,000 miler 2 litre 20 valve then give me a shout (sheer optimism). My wife would be having none of it but I reckon if I could get her behind the wheel she'd be converted. Good luck at the weekend. Andy |
