Does anyone know if it's possible to reduce the volume on park assist? I find it a bit on the loud and brash side - which is maybe a good thing for. On mine the tone comes from the left rear speaker only, should it come from both?

Mine comes from the rear left only. I believe it may actually be a separate speaker???

Anyway, i don't think there's a way to reduce the volume, but for the few seconds a day it might actually be activated, i can live with it.

Not sure about Volvo but on my Audi's and BMW the volume is changeable and if it's the front sensors then the sound comes from the front and if the back then from the back. I would think that most cars are the same as it's common sense but then who knows with Volvo

Yes I can put up with it, thanks.

If there's an easy option to reduce I'd like to. If not tough.

I am guessing they went for the volume that is set, to ensure that most people of good hearing radio on, kids being noisy, weather and wind and traffic noise; you ca still hear it.
But why on Zebra crossings have they in the main removed the "beep beep" noise you used to get when it was safe to cross?

Why, does the radio volume not lower when the beep starts?

True story this but a friend of mine was at a pedestrian crossing in Dublin and as the light went green and the beep started an American tourist asked my friend why the beep? My friend answered that it was for the blind people to which the American answered "wow back home in America we don't let blind people drive" says it all about them really.

It's not to cover the radio as the volume decreases when it bleeps.

Assume you mean pelican/puffin crossings rather than Zebra. In the main it is when there are more than one crossing so you could be confused as to which one is beeping, also it is to encourage you to actually look rather than just walk across when you hear the bleep. Where there is no sound, tactile feedback is provided within the button for blind users.
