Default poly bushing

Anyone had theirs fully polybushed?

if so... how much labour did you pay the garage to do it?

Cheers - Ben

polyurethane suspension bushings, last forever, and fit more snugly.

They are a bit dearer then standard rubber but they last a lot longer. Fitting requires suspension dismantling to replace standard ones in the usual places like antiroll bars, wishbones, stabiliser arms, top mounts etc...

I thought poly bushes were kinda track-oriented?

Our UK roads could transmit harsh shocks and vibrations through the chassis?

Default Poly bushes.

Polyurethane bushes are to be fair more directed at those who want to improve the handling of their cars and indeed they do in some circumstances remove some components originally specified to mitigate against NVH, as has been ponted out though they are virtually fit and forget.

I keep some in stock that are made by Powerflex and you can find them here:

http://kalmar-union.com/parts/volvo-...70-suspension/

The prices include VAT and UK postage.

Regards, Don.

It's not that hard to do it yourself Ben. The biggest problem is getting the old ones out but you can cut them out. Putting the polly's in is a piece of **** as most come in two halves and they just push in by hand so you don't need a press.

As for vibrations, you won't get any of any muchness unless you do the gearbox known as dog-mount bush but you have a T5 so should be OK with it as it's the diesels that really feel it when the dog-mount is done.

The 2 front anti-roll bar mounting bushes are a PITA to reach, the most difficult to replace IMO, but surely worth the hassle.

Beside the powerflex bushes, a polyurethane engine torque mount has been developed by Elevate, normal price is 119$ but there's a group buy being organized for the price of 95$/mount, this offer lasts until the end of July, more on the Elevate facebook page here> Elevate engine torque mount FB

I'll be measuring the one on my 2.0D and then ask Don whether it will fit, but a highly doubt it...

The one on the right is the improved mount from Elevate, the one on the left is the original OEM T5 mount....

The 2.0D mount looks like this>

Default Improved GENUINE engine mount.

There is a genuine Volvo/Ford mount that is the very best replacement for the original ST/small T5 item that is now incorprated in new Ford and Volvo vehicles.

It was first used in the Focus RS installation but now supercedes the earlier standard ones for ST/T5.

It locates the engine just as well as any aftermarket offering, costs less and transmits less noise.

Regards, Don.
