my sisters car has an error on the dash which says engine service required.
i scanned the car and the code p2584 comes up. (fuel additive control module requested MIL illumination) any idea what that is? thanks |

It will probably need additive top up.
Did this message come up immediately after filling up with fuel.? If so then this is probably fault. Next question that should be considered is whether car has full Volvo history. If not serviced by Volvo agent then may not have been topped up. |

the car is 2004 2.0 diesel
As far as i know it has not been serviced by volvo the last 2 times. Where about is the fuel additive tank so i can have a look. Thanks for the replies |

Tis at the rear under the bumper I do believe. Do a search on DPF issues on thee forum and you will find a lot of info about this. Also check if your car has a Diesel Particulate Filter fitted. You ca do this by checking the VIN number.
Cant remember the ins and outs of it but again a quick search will give you the info. Hope this helps. |
