Just swapped the Scorpion verde (which were fine) for the Scorpion zero M&S (mud and snow) they're bloody awful in the damp, an under steering fiasco.

Thus hoping for mud and snow....

It wasn't my choice, the car is part of the fleet and that's what it came back with.

The verde's lasted more miles than I recall any of my cars getting to, by a long way.

As you have AWD, I would suggest Nokian Weatherproofs, and leave them on all year. I have FWD and have used Weatherproofs for two winters now. Subjectively they seem as good as true winter tyres. I have only had 'problems' with (1) wet slushy snow and (2) deep snow - when I would need 'far longer legs' than an XC60 to make progress.

hi nigel,
the reason i'm enquring is that i've not heard of the weatherproofs, but have had the wr3 suv ones on for over two and a half years and 30,000 miles plus. they are down to 3.5 on the front and 4.5 on the rear so will need repacing pretty soon, so, do i renew the wr3's which have served me well, or replace with the weatherproofs which i know little about.

I had the weather proofs on all year round same as nigel very impressed, I would think your combo with AWD + all seasons would be perfect set up all that is required. 10mm of tread when new makes them very sure footed same as winters

Have a look here.

There was also a review last year where the Weatherproof acquitted itself very respectably against true winter tyres.

I had 4x Nokian Weatherproofs fitted last week.
Precisely 100 miles later I had my routine service.
The tread depth recorded on the service sheet were (average over the four tyres):
8.4mm (outer)
8.5mm (mid)
8.0mm (inner)

Sorry if I got that wrong, so if they didnt come with 10mm of tread then the wear was even better than I thought, 30,000 miles later still had 3-5mm left.
