According to my calculations based on the excellent wheel fitment calculator http://www.rims-n-tires.com/rt_specs.jsp, i should be OK for clearance. At the moment i have 195/65 x 15 tyres on 5.5" rims with standard 25mm offset. With this combination the inner edge of the tyre just rubs on the anti roll bar on full lock. The new wheels have a 43mm offset and are 7.5" wide, the tyres are 205 section. So although the rims are 2" wider the tyres are only 10mm wider (5mm per side). With a 23mm wheel spacer my offset becomes 20mm therefore the inner edge of the new tyre is in the same position as my 195 is now. The extra 10mm is on the outer edge which shouldnt be a problem but i could trim the inner lip of the wing if needed. I will soon know for sure as i should have the front cross member back on the car this week then i can try the wheels for the first time.

Just added a few more pictures to online album showing rear discs/calipers/suspension arms. It was good to confirm at last that the rear 235/45 X18 tyres on 7.5 inch rims, Et43 offset present no clearance problems and fill the arch nicely.
Will have all my caliper mounting brackets and hubcentric wheel spacers back from the anodisers tomorrow, so will be able to final assemble front and back ends, get the car rolling again then get back to the original task of supercharging the engine. Forgotten where i got to now!

How's it going? Any more progress to share?

Very little progress lately.
I got to the stage when the rebuilt engine was ready to go in, but i decided to attend to a rusty hole in the passenger foot well and a dodgy outrigger. It was easier to access with the car in in air and i could work from inside the engine bay. However the little rusty hole developed into more serious corrosion. So i now have the entire floor cut out and i am replacing the longditudal chassis section , the outrigger, the gearbox cross member mounting, the floor pan, the bulkhead side panel and some reconstruction of the door pillar. To cheer me up i sold the old Clarke mig welder and bought a nice new Portamig.

did you buy the floorplans / cross members etc or fabricate them?

if so, where did you get hold of them from and how much?
