Default Amazon Wagon (220) Wheel Size Question 17x8 or 17x8.5 or??

Looking to put 17" wheels on and drop the car alot. I want the wheels to fit in the wheel well, not outside and no rubbing. A few people have said that 17x8 ET20 works on the 122 Wagon. I have seen even more wheels available in 17x8.5 ET30. So a hair wider, but a hair further inside. Is there room inside without rubbing on anything?

Drop the car a lot? How much? Anything over 60 will give you issues.

This is the stance I’m going for...

I would guess that’s more than 60mm...

Are you going to stagger the wheels ? it looks as if the have on the estate...
I only went 7" wide on the rear but 6" on the front after lots of very careful measuring on a 60mm drop. ..check the back measurment of the wheels you have fitted and work it from there...taking into account the wheel at full lock.

That stance and wheel/tyre selection is for posing and not driving. I think it would be most uncomfortable and tiring unless you use air rides to raise it up when on the road. Like that, I think you'd have to restrict yourself to driving gingerly to cars 'n coffee on smooth roads.

I stuck with 15" wheels so i could use a tyre with a decent side wall, 65%..
It gives a better ride all round and i think suits the look of an older car better.
I agree the wheels in the pic look great but how practical are they ? an 8.5 wheel is over double the size of the original wheel..
Air ride could be your answer ?

Air ride needs a lot of cutting and fabricating to get the car low.

I agree its one reason I did not want to go down that route...i said i would never cut the Amazon. And any mods I do are very easy to return to standard..

Default Plan for power steering bolt-on

I've got 15x7s for my summer tires and it's driveable but wow, the difference when I go back to the 4.5s with the winter tires is night and day.
