I bet there was some recent new EU rulings that states such protectors “if” fitted have to pass certain loading bearing tests which resulted in the new separate design we currently have......?

Current E Class still has one, I had a poke around the E before ordering the V. Frankly the E is just too ugly.

The V90 and V90CC surely have the same bodyshell and therefore will have the same cargo net?

If you cant find one, it may be worth a punt on an XC90 cargo net, if it does not fit, you could cut the bars and fit them back together with hollow dowels to correct length, or even get them welded for a few quid, the mod would be hidden under the cover.

There are front and back slots, I measured across the back ones, I.e. ‘seats up’

Its not worth £240.00 thats for sure. The E class one is the best, the net retracts into the same cassette that holds the load bay cover, and it can be attached in 2 locations for seats up/down.
Its also got a stupid useless collapsing crate thats more Poundland than Ikea.

Thanks for looking. I've measured again and the slots are deeper than I thought which makes it about 1000 mm. I'm going to buy a s/h XC60 one. I will let you know whether it fits OK.

I bought an XC 60 cargo net from jmautoparts13uk ( 15690 ) for £20 on e bay it arrived today and it fits perfectly in the slots on my V90 R design D4 2017 with every bell and whistle on it except a cargo safety net! Saved myself £220!!

Sounds good. Do you have any photos of it in place?
Interestingly I spoke to my local dealer about the whole situation. He seemed unsure as to whether the one with the in-built net would fit as it's not as it's not listed on the accessories for the V90 and was a factory order option??
