Default Boot locking keyless?

Hi guys is there anyway of locking the boot once you have opened it and closed with the button underneath ?
Without having to get the keys out or walk round to driver's door.

Our previous cars would always self lock the boot once you closed it but this one don't seem to, I've looked in all the setting but cannot find anything regarding the boot.

If it is an XC60, no.
Many of us have made the mistake of thinking the boot 'self locks' when you close it, but the tell-tale sign is that, even if your mirrors are still folded (for those with folding mirrors on lock) the red light on the dashboard is now no longer flashing. So, whilst the doors remain locked, the boot is unlocked.
The quickest way to re-lock, without getting the key out of your pocket, is to push any one of the door handle rubber buttons.

On the V60, and I'd be surprised if it wasn't the same with the XC60, the boot doesn't self lock, but there is a button on the boot to lock it, you don't need to go to a door to lock the car, assuming your car is keyless.
Also the V60 doesn't have rubber buttons on the handle either, rubber button on the boot, but you just touch the indent on the handle on the V60.

It's on an XC60 67 plate.

I thought maybe I'd missed a setting hiding somewhere in the menu but guess not.

Very odd it doesn't self lock but oh well.
I'll have a look but can't say I notice anything on the boot like the button on the handles.

Thanks

Hmm so what’s the noise I hear a second or so after the boot close that sounds a lot like a motor engaging a lock?

I always thought it doesn't self lock to allow parcels to be delivered to your car when your away?

I've done it before, but then didn't think about someone taking them after they have been delivered

It is the 'safety' lock. If this does activate you will get the boot open warning light. The boot is still not locked as in 'secure'.

UMOX you state you have a 67 plate XC60, is it a mark 1 or 2, if it’s a 2 you only get the ability to lock the car from the tailgate with Keyless entry as there are 2 buttons , one closes the tailgate the other closes and locks car at same time.

It's a mark 1 last of the line before the new shape. Only boot close button underneath the rear door.

Can't seem to find anything on the outside of the boot that's looks like the locking pad on the other doors .

So it's a case of open boot, unload shopping, close boot, walk back round to lock, walk back round to collect shopping, walk off.

Annoying but will have to live with it I guess.
