Help !!!!
I have what I consider a huge problem (for me anyway).
I have I think a turbo boost problem.
I put my foot flat down on the throttle and the engine takes it's time to increase revs. BUT if I put my foot on the brake 2 things happen. If I have my foot on the brake the revs increase from 750 RPM to 1000 RPM. I also have no throttle response from the loud pedal with my foot on the brake pedal.

It may be worth mentioning that I had my A/C pump seize solid which stripped the belt (obviously) and both idler pulleys on the tensioner. A new tensioner and pulleys and a new (second hand) A/C pump has been fitted.

It's quite a knack driving this anywhere. Having to keep revs up to 2000 RPM while changing gear and not taking chances pulling out at junctions. :-(

Can anybody help me please?

Hi do you get any hissing from the brake booster, if you do that's leaking,
there is a one way valve to the brake booster test that,
you need to get a vacuum gauge and do some tests,
Dave

Not sure about any hissing from brake booster. Can you hear it from the inside of the car or will it only be heard from outside?
I am away till the 2nd of next month. Going back to Italy but flying this time. It's gonna make my arm ache flying all that way.
The EGR system was well choked up last night when I started my investigations. When I am back from holiday I am stripping turbo system and induction system.
I WILL get to the bottom of this and will post my findings for forum members benefit.

Thanks Dave for the reply.

By the way, I still have the V40 1.8i for spares or repair.
