Talking WP Pro Big Brake Kit for Volvo

Hello folks,

I just took a look the WP PRO BBK at partsforvolvoonline.com and very much interested in it.

Any experiences/ comments along with this kit? please share yours.

I tend to go with 360mm 6 pot. The retail price in my country hits me really.

Thanks a bunch

Ive got 'um!

They're a bit on the noisy side especially after hard use which I think is down to the brackets from the calipers being quite big. Id expect the smaller brakes to be less noisy.

No complaints on stopping power tho'

Thank you very much.

Aeroresh, have you ever changed a set of pads? where did you but it from?
I like EDB yellow stuff but it has not been avaliable yet.

Cheers,

Im still on my originals.

VT were going to look into getting me some decent pads for it next time round. The ones that come with the kit arent the biggest.

Ive had some really bad experiences with EBC stuff in the past so I may pass on the yellow stuff!

Have you had any other problems with the WP's? 2 of the kits in the states I've heard about have had nothing but problems (first kit leaked like crazy right out of the box from a piston seal).

I've used Stoptech and Porsche 993TT/S60R discs with fantastic results. Both look like (once again, imo only) a much stouter caliper design.

Its a porsche/brembo caliper (they are commonly refered to as 'Big Reds') which are found on the 993TT amongst quite a few others.

You will then need the porsche pads to go with them. I will be using textar standard pads which can be found at GSF for £30 iirc.

Then you need some S60R front discs, cheapest ive found is £172 for the pair.

Its a good idea to upgrade your brake hoses aswell, so get the same goodridge hoses that you would use for the 302mm setup.

Of course to bolt the calipers on, you will need some brackets. Where you get these is up to you. Dont know if swautos sell them, when i asked i never got a reply off them. I do know that a guy called CJ on VS sells them. Ive bought a set off him and they look like very high quality items.

Hope that helps.

Smile brake brackets

HI All

We custom engineer any brake bracket for any car/caliper/disc combination.
We obviously need the car for a few days to complete this correctly.

Thanks Stuart

PS Blackbeast how did you try to contact us i am intrigued as we always respond to email or phone calls it just takes time.
