Default HU605 Displays 'OFF' Message - Help!

Hi,

My wife recently entered 3 unsuccessfull codes into my HU 605, resulting in the unit being locked out as per normal for a period of 2 hours.

Unfortunately, during this period, the battery was disconnected.

I still have the (correct) code, but the unit is still diplaying the 'OFF' message whenever the unit is turned on, and it will not allow me to enter the code.

Any suggestions out there or will I have to take it to Volvo to get a new code?

Also, is there ANY way of getting an alarm fob programmed to the vehicle without Volvo charging me £63??????

HEEEEEEEEEELP!

evenin

well here goes

"After installation or when the set has been disconnected from power the set displays CODE when it is switched on. Enter the 4-digit code using the preset buttons. If the correct code is entered the set is ready to use. If you enter the incorrect code you must enter the correct code from the beginning.

If an incorrect code has been entered EEEE is displayed. After three unsuccessful attempts the set will lock and remain locked for two hours. OFF is displayed.

During this waiting period:
the battery must be connected
the ignition key must be turned to position I
the unit must be turned on

Make sure the headlights are turned off to help prevent battery drain.
Enter the code again once this time has elapsed."

and "fob programmed to the vehicle without Volvo charging me £63??????".....no way, holy cow, so my ebay bargain is gonna cost me a packet,

well, hope that helps

cheers

scott

don't know, but have you tried leaving the radio/ignition on anyway.? Failing that, why not phone you local volvo dealer, mine seems to be reasonably helpfull.

mornin

no, you should not need a new code, connect the battery and turn the key to position 1, and leave it there for two hours or until it displays EEEE

then enter the code and voila....

cheers

Old post but simple question. Does the 2 hour period have to be in one hit, or can I start and drive car? I believe the time only counts down while engine is off but key in position 1. If I drive home can I continue tomorrow?
