How to remove sill covers ?
Are these screwed, clipped, glued on ?
Noticed some surface corrosion on one of my sills today - would like to have the covers off and plaster underneath in waxoyl if they can be removed without breaking clips etc |

You mean the door seals when you open the doors? or the sideskirts?

If he means the side skirts I'd like to know that, too

Oh in that case, it is not that hard. First time is a bit trickier if you don't know what you are doing, but once you do it it is easy
The sideskirts is secured by 3 different types of bits. Bolts, rivet clips and clips You need to undo the 10mm bolt at the front of the sideskirt Then you need to unclip 3 (I think rivet clips). Just use a large flat blade screw driver and wedge out the inner thingy and the whole clip will come out Now the sideskirt is secured with 4 (I think) white plastic clips. Do not be tempted to yank it out like I did the first time. All you need to do, is to slide the sideskirt forward about 1 inch and the whole thing will just come out. Hope this helps

Old thread, I know, but has been very useful for removing sill covers, which were jammed full of mud.Thank you.
I've cleaned the box section of the covers, cut drain holes in them and bought new clips, ready to put covers back. With the little white plastic clips, is it better to: a) clip them into the sill and then slide the cover on to them (could be tricky, I think), or b) slide them into their places on the sill first, then snap the cover up into the sill. Thanks |
