Mine has an intermittent leak from the red plastic bleed screws (not all engines have these).

Also as I said I had a leak from the expansion tank lid which had a bit of rubber sat on the seal. I lost a lot from that (well, 200ml in a week maybe) and there was no evidence of the leak several times when I opened the bonnet (it was running off/evaporating).

Best time to check is probably immediately or shortly after a run when the engine is warm.

I'm very well thank you and am following your strategy of replacing an unreliable S60 with a "reliable" V40 with interest.

Seriously though, I hope you get sorted soon...... and cheaply.

Always remember that no used car is 100% reliable and we're nearly always buying the previous owner's problem.
When I bought my car, I had 18 months trouble free then everything happened so you're just getting your problems out of the way at the beginning.

H Bob, thanks for that. Will keep an eye on the areas you mentioned.

Hi Cheshire. Missing your Videos. Maybe you could start doing some V40 videos?

I do miss my S60, but when I started to hate the car, it was time for a change. My current V40 is to keep me going for the next 6 months, until I can get a good 2004, V40 1.9D.
