Does it drive well? Does the ticking come and go or is it always there?

My Saab 9-5 had a ticking that was only sometimes present..

Hi yes the noise comes and goes

The drive is good nice and smooth then pulls like a train when you hit the loud pedal

Couldn't the ticking be the VTT or doesn't your engine have that?

Apoligies if you already know this, but here's a quick test for the VVT.

FWIW my previous S40 1.8 had this issue, the on & off, rising & falling ticking, for all the time we owned it, but it never bothered me.

Some people would suggest / recommend replacement, but it's not an absolute requirement.

If you did the test & commented on here it might alleviate a prospective buyers concerns as to what's causing the sound.

It does look like a full spec, leather, wood, cruise, roof bars, 4 x ew, later dash & steering wheel.

And that's not counting the upgrades you've added.

I do hope it is sold to someone that's going to use it, rather than split it for parts.
