Default 2008 XC70 "DSTC" and now "AWD disabled"

I purchased a 2008 XC70 130K miles. The "DSTC service required" came on and my friend changed the Rear Differential Oil Pump and it cleared the message, about an hour later and starting it on and off 8-10 times a new message popped up "AWD Disabled service required" Any help would be greatly appreciated. I was told maybe the filter is clogged because that was not changed during new oil pump install? or maybe air leak during install of the oil pump?

The best way forward is to get the diagnostic codes read with VIDA otherwise you'll end up guessing / having work done unnecessarily.

+1 with Simon on this. You can spent telephone numbers on parts for a V70 4x4 system.

What you are saying here could even refer to issues with the brakes ie ABS rings.

Come back with more info and I'll try and help. I leaned quite a lot about the Haldex system when I lost AWD on my 2004 V70 a while back. see my thread below. Now fixed and still running well.

Cheers

Bob

What lead your friend to changing the oil pump?

Thanks Bob. Basically I was blowing AWD fuse and DSTC service required was on dash. My mechanic friend narrowed it down to module and or oil pump, unplugged oil pump and it stopped blowing fuse. So we put new pump in and it cleared DSTC, but after 8-10 starts the "AWD disabled" comes on the dash. My friend has erased the code 2 times now and every time it comes back on 8-10 starts.

Read the operating parameters of the DEM in VIDA and report them back here
