Default Front Grille Badge - Coming Apart

I noticed yesterday that the blue transfer "VOLVO" on the front grille badge has started to come off. It appears to be plastic stuck to to the silver coloured background. Does anyone know what the best glue is to use to reattach it?
Thanks
Tom

If you search you will find 'badge detachment' is a known fault. Mine occurred just after three years and I never discovered the real cause but suspect it's a case of incorrect or poorly applied adhesive.

Regrettably it is the only matter regarding which I have had a disagreement with Volvo. It was a classic case of 'the computer says NO' - allegedly my particular vehicle wasn't "included for remedial action" under an arbitrary Volvo notification.

I only wanted a new badge, which I was happy to fit. Realising they were about to loose me as a customer they offered to fit one F O C, which I didn't want but I did accept a new badge.

Given six years of previous impeccable service I found the dealerships quibbling attitude over a sticky label mean spirited and then almost unbelievable when I discovered the cost of the label (£1.95) in the process of buying one from another dealership. I only mention this in case you receive the same poor response.

Two tips:-

1 - Don't bother trying to reattach the badge as it's likely the original adhesive will fail on other parts of the badge.

2 - Regarding fitting the new badge; none of the usually solvents would remove the residue adhesive, which I found surprising. Then by chance I tried 'original T Cut colour restorer', which I had had on the garage shelf for years, and it worked well.

Default XC60 front grill label

My grill label fell off and rather than waste over an hour driving to and from the dealer I just bought one from Dave Barton and got it posted to me

I chose the poly dome option which is a label with very slightly domed clear acrylic on top. Looks good and still going strong with no fading after a year parked outside every day in aggressive Australian sunshine

Ours fell off a few months ago and phoned the dealer up and they said no problem it is a known fault and just call in and they will replace it. Ours is a 2013 xc60.

I too, replaced mine with one supplied by a Volvo dealer through eBay. I found good old Brasso perfect for cleaning off the stubborn adhesive left behind after peeling off the broken one.

My local dealer replaced mine FOC when it was in for a Sat Nav upgrade.
