Default Xc60 towbar wiring

I have a 2014 xc60 and want to fit a towbar and 13 pin electrics, the question is, does the vehicle have to be re-programmed to accept the wiring ?

yes it does it needs the volvo trailer module to interface the volvo 13 pin electrics to the car . Then a sotware download to activate it ..

I've just self fitted a detachable tow bar to my 2014 XC60.
Purchased the genuine volvo electrics (13 pin).
The lights on the caravan did not work correctly until I had the software activated. This cost £65 at David Pengelly in Nottm.
I live about 10 minutes from Alfreton if you get stuck with anything....

The bumper cuts are a right faff.
