Default V60 buying advice

Hi All

Looking for some practical advice when looking to buy a V60 D?.

Considering something 3-4 years old. What’s the best value trim package to look for? Is the 2L as economical in real life as the 1.6? I’d be doing about a 50/50 mix of motorway and city driving

Any problem areas to look out for?

Thanks in advance - Mike

Take a look at the used buying guide on AutoExpress published this week: http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/volvo/v...lvo-v60-review. Richard Dredge is the author of two books on classic Volvos.
For my part, I ran a 2014 V60 D4 for about 35,000 miles. Excellent engine (well mated to 8-speed Geartronic) and very economical on the longer runs I did (49.5 mpg over the duration). Mine was entirely problem-free; I now have a petrol-engined V40 T5.

I used to own a V60 D2,i found it underpowered for the size of car & overtaking required foward planning,i was getting around 44 mpg & best i ever got driving on a long run was 51mpg,my advice would be to get the 2.0 as the extra power is needed & the mpg wont be much different.

Hi I have bought a 2013 rebadged as D4 163BHP 5cly D4 changes after this more powerful 4cyl .I stuck with the 5cyl as they have always been good but does 46-52 mpg motorway though Manual gearbox 6sp could be better on roundabouts as I don't get the power when I need it .17 inch wheels are a good ride and not bumpy around town.No Problems in the 6 months since I bought it.I have Driver package ,Blis,Adaptive cruise control heated seats.Nav parking camera's heated screens, Laminated windows all round avoid the Business spec from dealers nothing in it .I bought space saver spare wheel for mine and fits nicely under deck.

I run a 2011 geartronic v60 d5 r design!
Absolutely love it plenty of grunt, especially now with polestar on it !
I find the mpg ok for what it is , my average over the last 5000 miles is 38 mpg. That consists of round the doors 32/33 mpg at weekends and on a good motorway run 45 ish mpg ! depends on my speed !! The ride is comfy and quiet on my commute and it’s a nice place to be , for the record mine has 133000 on it fsh and drives lovely !
Me thinks a d6 next year !
