Trouble with 5th gear.
Hello
Is there a kind soul that can tell me the procedure for adjusting gear change cables on an MK1 C70? Having trouble with 5th gear since new clutch. Thank you |

I don't think they are adjustable. My copy of VIDA doesn't mention any adjustment details and Haynes doesn't either.
Has the gearbox oil been changed recently? My C70 would be very difficult to get into reverse when it had been standing for a few days. I changed the oil and now it is silky smooth no matter how long it has been standing. The car has only done 61,000 miles yet the attachment shows the difference between the old and new Volvo oil - the old being very black and sludgy.

The clutch slave cylinders are also notoriously difficult to bleed, if 5th gear was fine pre clutch change and not now I would consider looking to the parts that were actually changed....

+1 to the above.
Cables are fixed, no adjustment. So your most likely culprits are clutch slave / trapped air - inspect / rebleed. However of its not the above it could be a number of other, more expensive/time comsuming things. Take it back to whererver changed the clutch & let them figure it out. Good luck.
