Default Volvo OBD connectors (nerdy post)

Hi,

For the past 2 weeks I've been attempting track down some rectangular connectors for the OBD post. The closest ones I can find are made by JAE Connector Company Part no. MX5-B-SG-C2-5000. After ordering these connectors although they do fit and lock in to the connector, it's a loose fit, and the OBD pins don't fit into this connector.

Does anyone know what the connectors are that are used in the OBD connector. images below.

Any help would be appreiciated.

Kr,

Tireth

You're looking for OBD data link terminals. You can buy a complete replacement OBD connector that comes with all the pins for a couple of pounds online.

Thank you for the reply. I could, but I don't want to chop the existing connections, I also want to retain the original OBD port. The existing port works fine, I'm just looking to add some more wires to it.

Plus the OBD connectors available online would require me to butcher the cubby hole under the armrest.

For some reason I can't find you on my phone Tireth or on whatsapp.

Send me a message, I've got an OBD connector that's been cut out of a car with wiring still attached, you can take the bits you need off it.

With a little bit of trimming, I've managed to get these contact terminals to work, https://uk.rs-online.com/web/p/crimp-contacts/7122056/ . They lock in with both of the locks, the OBD pin also slides in albeit at a slight angle.

Kr,
