Default P1800S Drivers Door Lock Spring Mechanism

I'm in the process of replacing all the locks on my 1966 P1800S (RHD straight side trim model) and have discovered that the drivers door lock spring mechanism is worn/rusted and really needs to be replaced. Does anyone have a spare spring mechanism sitting around in their garage ? Also, are they handed or one fit for both doors ? If handed, then one from a passenger door would be ok and would probably have suffered less wear.
Cheers
PJ

Do you mean the spring that sits behind the lock cylinder or the spring/link that goes down to the door latch proper? I'm guessing it's this one (#42 in the attached image). They are not sided but the parts manual is listing in a change in the later cars. There was a change made around Chassis #13290 which I think is about during the '66 production year. I've got a few 1800 doors about I can pull parts out of and shipping across the pond for something like that would be cheap.

Let me know

Chris

Many thanks Agent Strangelove. It's primarily the spring behind the lock barrel, but I'm going to have a good look at the whole mechanism to see if I need anything else whilst I'm at it. I could also do with a couple of good door glass runners (the back ones nearest the door handles) if you have them as both of mine are a bit rusty. I'll be in touch next week once I've had a good look around. Mine is a Nov '66 built car - chassis no. 21854 (last 5 digits)

I can poke about and see what I have for rear glass runners. Let me know what else you might want out of a door or two.

Thanks
Chris

Thanks for the offer Chris. However, I've now managed to cannabalise the bits from a very rusty door which was well past its use by date and was off to the scrapyard. Not perfect, but everything functions ok. Regards. PJ
