Round the clock
Hello,
I had to turn off the motorway and find a random car park to stop and capture this moment: Magnus went round the clock today. (I'm guessing for the second time). I suppose the mileage on the clock is academic seeing as almost the only mechanical thing I haven't changed is the auto transmission, but it still feels like a bit of a landmark. Let's look at some unscientific stats... I've owned Magnus for 9 years and done 47,000 miles, which is easily the longest I've owned any vehicle and the most miles I've driven in any vehicle. I've spent most of those miles listening for noises that indicate a happy or unhappy Magnus, yet the only time he broke we had no warning at all. One breakdown in 47,000 miles seems pretty good to me. I estimate I've spent £4,200 per year on owning, maintaining, insuring and fuelling Magnus. I estimate my parents' 2013 Skoda, doing about the same annual mileage, costs a total including fuel of £5,800 per year. And I have more fun!
