Default another problem noise

Im not having much luck, still have the recurring problem I am running a post on but now the car has developed a sudden clonk for no apparent reason. The car has always had a light clonk when I reverse off my drive on lock, as it but no one seems to be able to find any sign of anything. But over the last couple of days had a fairly loud clonk just driving normally, once when I was braking, as normal its not always doing it. Just about had enough now with intermitent faults. And beginning to wonder if I should get another xc.

Maybe the parking brake shoes worth checking they are not sticking on especially when going to reverse.

Just developed a similar problem, either nothing at all or worryingly noisy, changed the front drop links lastnight (60minutes),problem gone. I've noticed it from the rear very slightly as well so when it's in for MOT next week it's getting rear discs and pads and i'll get the rear links changed as well. At £10/15 each it's an easy cheap first option.

My my10 makes a bizarre transmission noise. Dealer says he cannotnfind anything. Overall, i am very disappointed. After 12 months, it makes a awful lot of noises from suspension, inside trim and transmission. German quality it is not

I sypmathise! Had my XC90 for a yr and had a number of intermittent faults. Mainly noises as you describe. volvo dealer had it a number of times but couldn't find it and said the car was perfectly safe. The noises were very worrying though to my family when we were in the car. Finally gave in and just picked up my first every new car ....the V70.

Strange thing is we had a volvo S60 a few years back and this had the exact same clunking sounds and we never got to the bottom of those?!

Best of luck.
Craig

Volvo manager told me they drove car extensively and did not hear anything. I can reproduce in 5 minutes but had no time to take him for a ride.

I then had a chat with mecanics who admitted to me that many xc90 owners complain about transmission and suspension noise.

I guess they say they will investigate and just have a nice drive in brand new car for fun not looking for potential issue.

Anyway, no impressed with the car and even less impressed with the dealer.

My wife can hear the noise but they do not bother her.

If you are particular with your motor and come from bmw or audi... Be warned, the car after 20kmiles will start to be serioulsy annoying
