I got the volvo tow bar fitted. The £650 price did not include the software which the dealer cheakily added to the bill. £10 though, not £100.

Get the Westfalia. I went Volvo for piece of mind but I could have saved myself £200 from reading this post. My experience of volvo dealer (just one tried) is just plain incompetence and overcharging.

Just go to a good indy tow bar fitter and see what he recommends.Ignore volvo dealers they will charge you the earth and anyway it will just be one of the usual makes as volvo dont make tow bars.I was quoted £800 to have a detachable t/bar fitted too my xc90 by the main stealer and then i found out that they get a t/bar fitter in to do the job and just double what he charges them for doing the job.So i went straight to the indy and he fitted the bar at my house for £320 all in.

My experience of Volvo dealer fit is ignorance and incompetence. Get the Westfalia fitted by a specialist.
Oh and just to name and shame it was Sturgess of Leicester.

Bit late but +1 for the Wesfalia. Had one fitted ~3 years ago and I have no grumbles.

Westfallia and volvo wiring kit is the way to go. Had fitted to my car and have had no problems and it looks good when fitted or removed.
