Movements sensor. XC90 '03
Still having problems with the alarm on my '03 XC90 activating. I now switch the movement sensor off and have no problem, but it's a pain to have to keep locking the door with the key and also sometimes baffles the wife !!
Can the movement sensor be manually adjusted or is it an Indie or dealer jobby ? Tony |

Maybe a new movement sensor would solve it?

Was wondering the same myself. I probably have one somewhere but the only place I think it could be is in the mirror base assy. If it is its probably not possible to use a second hand one.

I have a spare dimming mirror, but i am not sure if they are plug and play. I know that if you don't already have a dimming mirror it won't work, but i am not sure if the alarm part of the unit will cause issues.

mirror is only one thing which can not to be used to as a second hand part. there is immo code hidden in. movement sensor is different part, located close to mirror.

Would a faulty movement sensor give the fault "alarm service required" ?
When I press the button to isolate m/sensor, I get a messager of "reduced guard, see manual" no probs with this and of course "full guard" when switched off. It's when I try the central locking via the key fob, sometimes I don't hear the alarm go off, but when I go to start the car, I have a yellow triangle on the dash with "alarm service required". A little annoying, but local dealer wanted £98 to hook up to computer, another £98 to identify the fault, then God only knows how much to rectify...thieving gits ! |
