Not exactly a Volvo maintenance tale...but I am buying good parts. I'll be chauffeured from the hospital in a vehicle taller than my V70.

Hope it all goes well for you.

Started getting my spare wheels ready for some new paint, sanded and then primer coats applied ready for base and clearcoats in the morning, tip of the day, save your old toilet paper cardboard tubes, cut them lengthways and they are ideal for tucking between a deflated tyre and wheel rim to prevent overspray on your tyres, this idea came to me whilst sitting on the loo

Buy a cheap pack of cards and it does the job perfectly plus you can have a game of Solotaire as you wait for the paint to dry.

If you don't have a spare set of wheels to paint the simple solution is to buy mine. As an added bonus they are supplied with center caps. They would provide a very simple diy wheel painting project.

Your family and friends will be very impressed with your skills and as such will hold you in a much higher esteem.

Now ends this shameless plug.

Thumbs up Favourite Volvo Alloy Wheel?

So what is your favourite Volvo alloy wheel? Mine is the Zephyrus on the XC 60/70 models.

Good to see my original post is still running after all those years.

And what a post it was Mr ShadeTec.

Today I changed my nearside front bottom ball joint, I figured if the other side was worn, so would this one.

Whilst I was in the garage I couldn't help but notice that I had some wheels. They really are just the thing if you fancy a set for winter tyres or just to impress your family and friends. I think this link https://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showthread.php?t=327136 will take you to an advertisement I placed.

I'm not sure if I have mentioned them before.

Default MOT time.....

Today the automobile enigma that is 'Black Thunder' (2003 V70 D5) passed it's MOT! Coming up for 19 years old and 155k it only had a warning for a little clearance on the bottom ball joint. Having owned it for 14 years I just cannot imagine not having it in my life.......to be fair it has always been maintained by the book but the quality of the OEM parts is outstanding; still running the original alternator, p/s pump, air con pump, exhaust and I replaced the original battery at 16 years as a precautionary measure. I wish they still built them like that!

My 2003 V70R (on 126k) went in for it's MOT today. Pass with an advisory for the rubber on the prop shaft centre bearing being perished. Pretty happy with that.
Only prep work i'd done was to change an ABS ring at the weekend, as I was getting occasional ABS/Traction control fault messages.

Our Honda Euro R also passed today - but only after a failure for a number plate bulb.
