does anybody know what sort of power standard internals can take on a b230fk or b230ft ??

any information welcome cheers ted

They are seriously tough engines if looked after, and the head is not corroded.
Pricey to rebuild, though.
Might be worth making contact with Volvo , though they seem to want to distance themselves from the "proper " cars that built their reputation.

Like the sleeper idea, Ted.
Every one expects classic cars to be slow and stodgy.
There used to be one in Eastbourne when I was young, a stock looking 245, but with a 350 Chevy nestling in there.

just going for a full rebuild and leave standard pistons and rods in for now and see how it goes i suppose

whilst at work yesterday bought a full overhaul kit for my new engine. all gaskets and all seals,head bolts, water pump and timing belt kit just need to find a place to get hold of an oil pump, bottom end bearing,shells,thrust washers and pistonrings

was bored at work today and managed to find a supplier for my piston rings bottom end bearings and oil pump yay need to start doing some work on it i think lol
