Default cam belt gone - sequel

Hello and thanks for help so far. It turned out that the water pump was the problem - that caused the cam belt to go lots of damage to engine 800.00 pounds worth. The garage where I bought it are not co-operating even though it was under warranty when it happened. I'm nervous of taking them to court - can anyone offer any advice?

thanks again
Cathy

What does the warranty say?
Is it the garages own warranty or a third party?
For £880 then small claims court is fairly easy and not too stressful.
AFAIK the water pump is an item that doesn't even feature on the service schedule.

It's the garage's own warranty - small print doesn't say water pump not covered. It lists thing s that aren't covered, but nothing that I've had to have repaired except for the cam belt.

I've just ordered a new water pump for my car. Its done over 120k on the original pump and I've heard too many times that when they fail thay snap the cambelt. It was £46 +vat+postage from Nordic.

When I had my rear crank shaft oil seal done, I changed the water pump, timing belt, tensioner pulleys and clutch to save any large future expense.
