computer - what is this ??
Just noticed that when switching the mode on the computer, some times the word "disc" flashes onthe screen fo a second.
Anyone know what this is ???? |

RE: computer - what is this ??
Don't know what it is, but my Dad's T5 does it sometimes. He mentioned it to the dealer but they hadn't heard of it before. Neither of our 850s did it and thus far my V70 hasn't done it either. It's a bit odd but I don't think it affects the data.

it normally means there is an error with the computer but seeing as though most models do this when switching between modes i would say its quite normal.

Mine does that also. Its usually when I switch to the instantaneous mpg reading. I think it means disconnected. As in it hasnt received a signal from the relevant sensor.

That's right, except it's because it's not seeing a valid input from the mode switch due to a dodgy contact. If you wind the switch over the full range a few times to wipe the contacts the problem should go away.

I stupidly thought it was because I had a CD changer in the system!
Great advice. Mine does this too. I will try the sweeping the knob around a bit to clean the contacts. Richard Whennell 855 T5 1995 VOC member |
