Default V60 DRIVe R - Spare Space-saver Wheel

Hi All,

I have just bought a used (2012) V60 DRIVe R and I need to sort out a spare wheel as I drive a lot. It has R8 tyres (tires for US cousins) on it but I have only seen R7s or R6s on eBay, some questions:

1) Would an R7 Spare Space-saver Wheel be OK on a V60 DRIVe R (as it would only be on for a temporary period)?

2) Do I need to get a new Boot (Trunk for US cousins) insert for the tyre to fit or would it fit in the standard boot inlay that comes with the car?

Cheers all (first Volvo and I love it).

I bought the tempa 125/80 R17 space saver & jack & bought a wheel bag & i store mine in the rear on top of the boot floor as i never carry lots of stuff & i quite like having the storage area under the floor to store jump leads/spare bulbs/first aid kit etc.

Default cheap solution

hi guys,

after reading some of the threads on here I decided to get a spare for my V60 (2013 R-design) as I don't like having to rely on the puncture repair kit. I wanted to try and find a cheap solution so I looked on here
http://www.wheelfitment.eu/car/Volvo...0%20-%20).html
for compatible wheels and bought a 2nd hand wheel "FORD FOCUS 16 Inch Spare Wheel & Tyre Space Saver & Jack Kit 125/85/16" off ebay for £30. It fits under the boot floor nicely without sliding around however I wanted to be able to use the rest of the space in there without having to worry about the exposed cables so I cut a hole in the existing surround so I could reuse it which was pretty easy. I now have a spare wheel + jack and plenty of space for other stuff under there including the puncture repair kit too if needed and the boot still closes flat without any problem. I've also fitted it to the car and it drives fine, not a bad solution for £30 see pics below.
