Default 740/940 Estate (Just testing the water)

Hello Friends
I think the winter has taken it's toll on my 1989 740 Auto SE saloon. I've had to renew the best part of the exhaust and when finances permit, I'll fit the final (mid) part. Now the main fuel pump has crashed. It's getting done either today or tomorrow. Last year I replaced the NS balljoint but had to give it to a local garage as I didn't have the heat to free the bolts. Sadly this left the tracking out so that the tyres scrubbed off the outer edges. Yeah, I should have had it checked. (Wise after the event eh?) I believe the in tank pump isn't working which probably already put the main under strain. finally I must sort the NS handbrake. I replaced the shoes, but mustn't have re-assembled the mech. properly as it doesn't work on that side. Of course this means that the OS doesn't pull on either. Thank goodness I have 'Park'. Anyway, they're not big probs., but I'm not in the best of health and finances are always tight, especially now, just after the festivities as I'm not able to work and miss a decent wage. Anyway I'll stop 'bleating' now, thank goodness I hear you say. Later this year, (probably Summer(ish),I'd like to know if it would be feasible to find a good model for a reasonable price. Not with the biggest of engines, I'm not after performance, just reliability. Like I say, no big jobs as I have my limits. I'd be happy just to recieve your comments. At least it'll give you something to chat about and me something to read. If you've read this far, thank you and take care.

I have for sale at the moment, a silver 740GL saloon, with only 48,000 miles (yes very low original miles!) 1988, 2.0l injected, with black interior, cloth seats, immaculate, everything works, alloys, excellent tyres, cambelt recently done, new rear pads, oil changed, air filter changed, etc,

I'm only after £475 for her, as i need something a lot smaller easier on petrol etc..

It has been undersealed at somepoint and i have reciepts and a list schedule of what work i have had done.

Taxed till may,
mot till october, have a look on the SALES thread for my ad + pictures!
