145 clutch
Having Got engine running well on my 145, i attempted a little drive. The clutch pedal went 2 thirds of way to floor before it started lifting the clutch, i could only just engage a gear. I tried adjusting cable, moving it about 3/4" away from actuating arm. No difference. Does this mean the clutch plate has worn too thin, an should be replaced forthwith? I've never had a cable operatedclutch before.

suggests a stretched cable, might need tightening or otherwise replace. You could try lubricating the cable

Pedal moves easily. It's that there's only about 3" of actual clutch actuation, pedal goes nearly to floor before there's any resistance. Engine will be coming out anyway, as o/d box going in, rear crankseal, etc, so may as well put new clutch in at same time, as will be daily driver in the six "summer" months.
